New Associate Deputy Principals

Join us in congratulating Kendra and Karina on their exciting new roles

Telethon Speech & Hearing is pleased to announce the appointments of Karina op den Dries and Kendra Buss as Associate Deputy Principals within our growing Outpost team.

Starting this term, both Karina and Kendra will join our school's leadership team to ensure Telethon Speech & Hearing’s Outpost program maintains its excellent standards of service and care for all families, staff and enrolled students. Both women will take on an increasing program development role within our centre, and help provide best practice mentoring and guidance for existing Outpost staff.

Both Karina and Kendra are currently Teachers of the Deaf within our school support program and will continue working within these roles at their respective mainstream schools, Mel Maria Catholic Primary School and John Wollaston Anglican Community School.

Our team are delighted to announce these new appointments and look forward to Karina and Kendra’s positive influence on our thriving Outpost community.

How will this affect you and your child?

For families in our Outpost program, expect to hear and see a lot more of Kendra and Karina!

In helping to ensure each family and student’s educational, clinical and personal needs are being met, both Kendra and Karina may be a leading point of contact for families in place of our current Outpost Deputy Principal Geoff Reader, and/or Principal Janene Hall.

While all senior Telethon Speech & Hearing staff are still available to families for support, our Associate Deputy Principals aim to provide an extra level of assistance to families and students where needed.

Getting in Contact

Karina op den Dries

“I am passionate about making a difference, watching students progress and succeed. Watching them thrive in a mainstream school not only academically but also emotionally and socially. Being there for them through those tough times and supporting them. The feedback from the parents and children themselves, of their progress makes me proud of the role I do.”

Karina is available during: Tuesdays and Fridays

Kendra Buss

“I love the fact that I work with and support our students and their families throughout their school journey, so am able to develop a level of trust with them, which is really beneficial, especially through the teenage years.”

Kendra is available during: Tuesdays and Wednesdays
